About Us
About The Oregon Chiropractic Association
In November 2008, the CAO and ODOC members voted and decided overwhelmingly to disband and unify with a new organization that would be called the "OREGON CHIROPRACTIC ASSOCIATION".
With the help of the Gatti Law Firm once again and in a unified effort of several key doctors in addition to both existing boards, we have created a mission statement and by-laws in a blended format. We have combined the 2 previous executive boards and have elected 2 Co-Presidents, Dr. Don Ferrante and Dr. Robert Taylor are serving us in that capacity for the first 2 years. We have an executive board, consisting of 12 other members that are committed to serving you and all of Chiropractic in Oregon. We have an Executive Director, Jan Ferrante, who will run our administrative office along with her administrative assistants. In addition to that, we have named several committees to insure the interests of both groups can be pursued and protected. We have implemented many councils that will serve and protect the interests of chiropractic in Oregon. We are going to return to meetings around the state in the form of Districts/Chapters that will insure that communication and participation will be all inclusive for each and every one of you.
THIS IS YOUR ASSOCIATION…THIS IS OUR ASSOCIATION….. The obvious benefits of unification are profound. The possibilities of the future are limitless. This unified organization will carry power to the legislature. It will carry a voice to our OBCE board. It will outline our goals and purpose to the many other organizations that we work with. It will help to strengthen our vision by raising the funds needed together rather than separately. We will continue to have even stronger legislative efforts in Salem with the continued support of our lobbyists. We will continue to have the "Chiropractic Day at the Capitol" where we will have the chance to showcase our unity to the legislative body. Our state convention will be a celebration of what we have achieved. We hope to eliminate any perceived idea of weakness in Chiropractic that we may have previously had with the public, legislature, and the profession as a whole as two separate entities. But to totally define who and what we are needs the "whole chiropractic community" to participate. We have over 1100 doctors in this state and our goal is to have all of you part of this membership…If we approach the next decade "one thousand strong" we will control our own destiny. We need to help position our profession to be aligned with his agenda. We need to continue to serve our patients. We need to continue to promote wellness and a healthy community. We need to restore our friendships with each other and renew our faith in one another. We can do this. We have already taken the first step. Lastly, we will strive to provide quality continuing education through our new association. We will promote the annual convention, sponsor other seminars, and offer video of many of those classes. But we encourage your presence at these live events to meet the vendors, see old friends, and feel the energy that has only just begun. This is about you. This is about me. This is about Chiropractic in Oregon.
